Portland -area RMLS . Read about yesterday’s release of local housing-market numbers. Builders are scaling back now that tax credits of up to $8000 have expired. The biggest evidence of that trend: the number of new single-family homes tumbled 17 percent, the largest monthly drop since January 1991.

The regional median home price had hit $300000, up 9 percent from the year before. … There was talk by some local industry folks that Oregon would be immune. Things are different here, they said.
